Week 29 Of A Pregnancy
At 29 weeks pregnant, you are now in your third trimester. Although you still have some time until your baby is ready to arrive, this is an important time for development and growth in baby.
Your baby is around 17 inches long and weighs about 4 pounds. Baby’s skin is becoming softer and more smooth as layers of fat are added. Their hearing and vision continue to develop and their lungs and brain are developing rapidly. As baby grows and takes up more room in your womb, their movements become more noticeable.
You may be feeling increasingly uncomfortable during this time, so be sure to take frequent breaks throughout the day. Back pain may be more intense and you may be experiencing other aches and pains like indigestion or sleeplessness. Eating small, frequent meals throughout the day can help with indigestion and staying active can help manage any pain or cramping.
Baby’s organs and systems are maturing rapidly in these last few weeks of pregnancy, so it’s important to schedule regular checkups with your care provider. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and discuss any concerns you have about the pregnancy, labour, and delivery. This is a great time to go over your birth plan and familiarize yourself with the hospital or birthing center you plan to deliver at.
Taking good care of yourself during this time is essential — so eat healthy meals, stay active, and get plenty of rest. Connect with other expectant mothers for additional support and comfort. Soon, your baby will be here!
