Week 33 Of A Pregnancy
Pregnancy week 33 marks the beginning of the eighth month of pregnancy and is a crucial stage for the soon-to-be-born baby. By this time, the baby’s organs should be fully developed and functioning. Babies are usually born two to three weeks after week 33 has passed.
During week 33, your baby should be around 4 3/4 pounds and approximately 17 inches long. As the baby grows, you may experience round ligament pain, which is a sharp pain in the abdomen caused by your ligaments stretching.
In week 33 of your pregnancy, the baby’s lungs should be almost finished with the final stage of development. His or her brain will be growing and developing, giving the baby the ability to think and remember. The baby’s immune system should be almost complete, allowing him or her to effectively fight off illnesses after birth.
At this stage, many mothers experience Braxton Hicks contractions, which are false labor pains. They may continue over the remaining weeks until the baby is born. As the baby continues to grow, it will take up more space in your uterus, and you may experience more difficulty breathing.
Week 33 is a very exciting time in your pregnancy. All of your baby’s organs should be almost completely developed, and you can begin preparing for labor. However, if you experience any serious pain or have any concerns, make sure to consult your doctor.
