Week 36 Of A Pregnancy
Pregnancy week 36 marks the end of the tenth month of pregnancy and is a very important stage for your soon-to-be-born baby. By this point, your baby should be close to full-term and is almost ready to enter the world.
At this stage, the baby should be around 5 and a half pounds and over 19 inches long. As the baby grows, you may be feeling even more tired, with the extra weight of the baby. Braxton Hicks contractions should also be more frequent, giving your uterus practice for labor.
At this stage, the baby’s lungs should be fully developed and ready to breathe on their own. His or her brain and nervous system will also be fully developed, allowing the baby to think and remember. The baby’s bones should also be almost completely formed.
As the baby continues to grow, you may also feel even more pressure in your abdomen due to the baby’s size. This is normal and is nothing to be concerned about. You may also experience leg cramps, as your uterus stretches and gets bigger.
Week 36 is an exciting time in your pregnancy. It is important to be aware of the signs of labor and make sure to call your doctor or midwife if you experience any serious pain or concerns. With only a few more weeks left before delivery, make sure to take care of yourself and enjoy this special time!
